Another great example of one rule for Ferrari and another for everybody else today. Martin Brundel said that acording to the rules it should be an instant drive through penalty. Can't help feeling if it had been a McLaren making a unsafe exit from the pits then it would have been a rather different and decisive decision.

I don't remember him saying instant, but that was what he was expecting to happen. I thought it seemed a bit odd to leave it until after the race though and I agree I think that had it been another team (or perhaps not the race leader) they'd have applied the penalty.

I hope the guy that was injured in the Ferrari pit stop is OK - surely there is also some penalty for dodgy pit stopping?

Bad luck for Raikkonen. I was hoping Kovalainen might have made 3rd.

You're right he didn't use the word instant but he did say that the the penalty should have been applied if the incident happened in anything but the last five laps.

Just read online that they are going to fine Ferrari €10000, the same that they applied for Alonso's late decision to come into pits during practice. Hardly seems comparable. The stewards admit it was dangerous but as he didn't gain any advantage so they won't impose any stronger punnishment. Seems ridiculous they put a sporting advantage in a higher category than a dangerous incident.

WTF? Absolutely unbelievable decision made by the stewards to demote Hamilton to 3rd.

It's crazy he dropped back to second and gained no advantage, although I dont see why he did as he was pretty much forced from the track but that a different matter.

robbed. he even slowed down so as not to gain advantage! he was just protecting his car! Bloody F1 hate maclaren. if ferrari did that, they wouldn't get penalised! just fined a few quid!

Mclaren are appealing the decision, they say they have data that proves he was travelling 6 mph slower than the Ferrari when he crossed the line. On top of the fact that the only possible advantage he could of gained would of been against Raikonnan who promtly spun himself off the track.

This certain stinks badly!! I'm hoping they really stick it to Ferrari infront of their home crowd at Monza next week.
