Euro 2008 - Who do you want to win?

Postby Vaughn » 08 Jun 2008, 12:45

If you can bring yourself to watch Euro 2008, who will you be supporting?

Im thinking Netherlands and Portugal. Both teams have some quality players, but the football pundits dont seem to favour them for the win. Also the Dutch have a good attitude to life in general imo, and im going on holiday to portugal in a couple of weeks! 8-)

Portugal. But only because of nani and ronaldo.

Paddy power will give you a free t-shirt if you support portugal, spain, germany etc. Watched the 2 matches yesterday and there wasnt't anything amazing in them. We had more fun as stockport county vs acrington stanley on fifa 08 on the PS3! And when bulgaria vs romania went to 10-10 on penalties, we realised the digital world is much more entertaining than platini slagging off england.

Lets face it, the championships are ALWAYS louder and more passionate when the we're there! We're the buggers that buy all the tickets off touts at 5x the price!

in italy so whoever's playing against them at the time just to rile the locals!

Well I have plumped for Spain as they have some great players with the likes of Torres, Alonso and Fabregas amongst others. I just hope they dont underperform as is usual with Spanish natonal teams.

kudos on the grounds keeper willy quote!

Nani is a gifted young player who needs to get himself under control. Ronaldo is arguably the best player in the world at the moment. Deco needs to be punched...

Oh god, austria are playing today. that'll be a car crash!

I'm sure I'm going to get shot for this but I would probably say the Germans at this point. Other than that it would be Spain, but I think they will collapse as per usual. I don't like the attitude of half the Portuguese and Italian teams, as for the Dutch well less said the better really. They have a decent team but infighting will do for them again. Germany can play some great football at times plus I have Lahm and Podolski in my fantasy euro team so I need those goals and clean sheets!
