Suicide squad trailer 2.

Not sure if we're looking at any of the newly shot footage. Rumour has it they're spending $10m reshooting parts to get more jokes in there a la deadpool.

It's definitely a much better trailer which gives some idea of what's going on, the first trailer was on at Batman vs Superman and afterwards he asked what Suicide Squad was actually about. I'm not sure what to make about them reshooting scenes in light of Deadpool, I'm hoping that means just to change the tone a bit rather than more directly like Deadpool but it already looked to have a fairly light tone.

The rumours are that the first trailer contained all the jokes from the movie and didn't show the tone of the film. So they've realised that it needs a lighter tone to it.

Trailers! Trailers everywhere!

Ok, from bad to good -

Angry birds. funny enough trailer, but you know the movie will be pants! even with the almighty dinklage in it!

Secret life of pets. Actually, the first trailer from this is much better than this one.

Doctor Strange - the next Marvel film. looks kind of trippy! knowing nothing about the character, it looks like a departure from the normal marvel fare.

Well the first reviews are coming in and Captain America >>>> batman vs superman. Its getting 8's and 9's rather than the 5 or 6 of batman vs superman. Will the R rated version help their cause? Or will DC have to take a hark look at how a film with 2 of comics biggest stars just didnt work out for the general population!

Civil War has been looking great so I'm relieved to hear the reviews for it sound promising at least.

In fairness to DC, Batman vs Superman has done pretty well financially and I don't think it's any worse than a lot of the recent Marvel stuff and i think the issues with Batman vs Superman were fairly simple in that it was just a fairly badly written plot and storyline. I think being an 18 could help it a bit when it's a darker, more grim film but I don't' think it would have fundamentally changed the film.

Indeed. The criticism with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice's gross takings stems from the expectation that well known comic book characters will make more money, just cos. The Avenger films may have an ensemble of less-well-known characters, but the MCU have spent years building them up to be household names (with films that grossed a lot less than this). And conversely Deadpool (which has grossed the same as Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice) has some guy in red that no one had heard of, so it's not just the characters in the films. Heck, no one in China knows who Batman and Superman is. So yes, $750M is fairly good going!

Where Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice has lost out is on repeat viewings. As John says, the storyline isn't that good - thus not compelling enough to get people to watch again; and the interpretation of the characters isn't enough to get the fanboys back. I don't think a 15/18 rating would have done diddly for this film.
