and 3 books I am never going to have time to read. Although I have nearly finished the first of the series and it is very good, so I might make time.

I have a stack of books and DVD/blu-ray to read/watch. It's absurd and yet I still keep ordering more.

I had a big clear out at the end of last year. It was brutal, I chucked (I say chucked, most of it was taken by my neigbour to charity shops/friends) pretty much any book that had been read. There are few enough books that I ever read twice, and far too many that I haven't got around to reading once to hold onto them. Ditto for movies. DVD's chucked, I only held onto a handful of real specials.

Ordered a running machine. It's only a cheap reebok one, but it will give me an idea of whether I take to the sport or not. It gets good reviews, so I won't be put of by it being awful. Also bought some extra weight equipment.

I can't bring myself to throw out or give away my books or DVDs, even though I will never read or watch them again. I guess I like collecting. I currently have about 10 books on my to read pile.

A Westen Digital Scorpio Black 500Gb, hard drive, fed up of the meagre 160Gb that came with the Macbook. Especially with 40Gb for Bootcamp.

hope swapping it over will be easy enough.

I also bought that same hard drive off eBuyer! - to replace my always full 160GB Scorpio Blue (5400RPM).

Arrived yesterday. According to HD Tune, max transfer rates are up from 45MB/sec to 104MB/sec - yippee for the increased density per platter!

Being a 7200RPM drive, it does runs a little bit hotter and there's a wee bit more vibration but my laptop fans are noisy anyway (although a little less shocking using the latest custom Sager BIOS firmware).

I notice the Scorpio Black performance much more so than the processor upgrade I did over the Christmas period (replaced my Intel T5550 1.83GHz for a second hand T9300 2.5GHz - a £80 purchase on eBay).

Oh that reminds me, Happy New Year everyone! :-)

I've not bought posters in years but after seeing some I liked in HMV I bought three, a tall portrait one of Carter from Reach (no Jorge or Emile), a wide landscape portrait Tron poster and a smaller, squarer Reach one with Noble 1-5. I need to get some hanging kits to get some of the collage prints to get them up on the wall.

On the less exciting side I bought some new Merrell shoes in the sale to give a go and a new toothbrush from Amazon which I'm hoping is going to do a better job of keeping my teeth clean.

The Bourne movie collection on Blu-ray for £14.99, a couple of Art Blakey cds, a Cannonball Aderley cd (4 cd album), a Big Chill Classics cd and a digi download album from Jon Kennedy. Seems like I'm in a late night Jazz buying mood!

Play.com mp3 download seem to work smoothly. First time I've used it I think. No downloader like Amazon, just a zip file that has just finished downloading so off to play the tracks I go!

Resident evil afterlife and DC Universes. After tiring of WoW I accidently stumbled across DC Universes while browsing Reddit.

Wow, that looks a pretty serious piece of kit. What sort of speeds can it pull?

Yeah goes quite well, had a good few runs this afternoon and I didn't manage to break it. Think you are talking 45+ mph depending on nitro grade. After todays runs I can confirm its flippin' fast. I used to have a Tamia Boomerang electric when I was alot younger and then swapped that for a 1.2 nitro Celica. This thing is in a different league. Still sort of in the run in period, going to move to higher grade nitro on the next outing.

Not my video but one of a guy giving his car some rough treatment

Wii Guitar Hero 6 guitar bundle for £31.18 from amazon which I didn't think was too bad. For my sister so won't get to play on it for a while yet.
