Dear Blog,

Not as much of a memory lane as they make out that given many people still program, tweak their operating systems etc. all now even on mobile phones.

Just powering up my Premium to see if it's ready for a trade-in which was strange seeing the old dash, it's updated fine but the drive doesn't open vertically which is a pain in the neck. Seems a well known problem, it works fine when horizontal but I doubt it can be taken as a tradein now.

Vodafone have been in touch about my contract termination and were typically clueless about their own tariffs and how they work, it looks like I'm going to have to port out and back in again to get any sort of decent deal - the person couldn't seem to understand why I'd want to do that when they could offer the tariff direct for just £180 more!

Dear Blog,

I'm not sure how keyboards fit into this line of conversation...

Dear Blog,

Erm, keyboards... Not sure either, John.

Having fun playing round with my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro mobile phone (hope that sorts out any back of the room sniggers). Getting used to everything and the layout and things. It came with a European plug adapter in the box but I was sent a UK 3pin Motorola plug also. Don't know if this is because the stock was from Europe or if that's normal but not to worry, everything's cool.

Just need to get numbers transferred across now. There any program you guys like to use to sync contacts or do you do it through email accounts like gmail or outlook?

Dear Blog,

I usually sync through Outlook as most phones support that and it's easy to manage the data in Outlook itself.

Dear Blog

Get all your contacts into the Gmail account for the phone, then it all updates automatically... Simples.

I exported to sim card, put card in phone, then it synced up to the account for those and pulled down all the e-mail details. A few hours had to be spent marrying duplicates up and clearing out the old crap (I have a BIG contacts list..).

Dear Blog

Brilliant when you get your next android phone. Plug in sim, sign in and done. All contacts present and correct. With Sense it integrates with all your twitter and facebook stuff too.

dear blog,

I have to delete all my contacts again from my phone and try to upload the ones from outlook to gmail. the whole list in my phone is a pile of cack.

in other news - just finished a three day sql server course in Brighton - learnt not much and got told off every day for using the old syntax to structure all my sql. fun times.

Dear Blog.

Remember, you can edit your contacts on your PC/MAC in Gmail. You don't have to fiddle around on the phone doing it.
