Ok walked 2 miles round the quay, about 30ish minutes (20 of which was high pace the other 10 included a detour through Tesco to get lunch so was at a snails pace)

Currently on around 1200 calories a day, with the occasional "bad day" of 1800.

scar!!! you SHOULD eat 1800 a day!!! otherwise you've dangerously halved your calorie intake!!! Especially if you're doing exercise!

Indeed, dropping to 1200 hundred is to low imho, 1600-2000 depending on how hard your training will still allow you to loose weight without packing the pounds on again if you start eating more.

I've dropped to 1780 a day, and the gf has gone to 1200 a day. burn 500 calories 4 times a week and you'll lose weigh gently and nicely!

try myfitnesspal.com, its really working well for me to track my food and exercise!

Its actually more than you think, I am actually eating better than I did on 2500 - 3000 calories.

Once I get into a routine of walking regularly/daily I will increase my intake accordingly. According to the internet my 2 mile walk burnt around 250 calories so I guess I get an extra snack.

Its not more than you think, its less than half your recommended daily intake. You may be eating better but your not eating enough, your body will think its being starved and go into a preservation mode, especially if you have just dropped from 2500 to 1200. Any fat you do eat will be stored and your body will try and hold on to every scrap it gets.

You may drop weight but once you start eating normally again you will put the vast majority of it if not more back on if your not careful. Better to go back up to around 1800 and loose the weight slower, but ensure it stays off permanently. Factor in dropping to 2000 calories is only 80% of your recommended daily intake. 1200 is less than 50.

Your girlfriends drop sounds a bit on the steep side there as well ras. You've dropped 720 calories and shes dropped 800? Doesn't sound much until you factor in she should be on 500 less a day than you anyway......

I know its easy to sit on a forum and preach but at the end of the day weight loss should be done as a marathon for permanent results, not a sprint.

yeah, its the fitness website, and my US mate who does xtreme boot camps. 1250 ish for the missus, shy of 1800 for me. its tougher for the missus! so few calories to plan meals around! only eating fish at the mo!!

Still weighed myself last night and think i shed some water retention as i have dramatically cut my salt intake! So 16st 8 from 17st 6. Will be slow progress from here.

Large muesli and a banana for breaky, bacon roll when I got to clinic at 8am, nice big fry up with 2 fried slice for lunch and a large bowl of pasta for dinner.

Is this in keeping with the calorie intake?

Do you think giving osteo treatment to a 25 stone person burns enough cals to balance it?

How do you know your exact calorie intake like that Ras?

I look at these calorie counting things, and seems that unless you eat branded goods then its going to be hard to know what you have put in?

Went out for a ride early this afternoon around the woods on my new bike. The usual 50 min ride took nearly 2 hours and was bloody hard work! Good fun though and the new bike is a monster, eats everything I threw at it although couldn't really get a good speed up.

I've left it totally unlocked! so you can see what i've eaten! but this is how we track it. Anything thats not in there, i add in and share with everyone. so i added the prawns in today so if anyone else eats them, they're there!

A lot of american food in there. but then the american got me onto the site! ;)

And for comedy, check yesterdays totals. ate so badly i had almost 1200 calories to spare!!!
