Dear Blog,

Well I am alive which is something to be grateful for as it's no exaggeration that it's one of the (or just 'the') most dangerous racetracks there is. It started to hit home when we got the safety briefing in the morning from the hire company and then as we went round the track there were numerous parts of the track where cars had recently left the track. I didn't get a single lap where I didn't have to slow for waved yellows due to crashes (all minor grinds up the barrier plus one breakdown) and the one serious one at the end, last time I was there it was the same.

Dear blog,

boring course in Nottingham is boring. What makes it worse is that I have to stay here for three days in the Hotel Inn.

Bah.

Dear Blog

Spent most of the day with my niece at the Palace of Westminster touring the House of Commons and House of Lords and sat in the public gallery for 90 mins too watching debates. Was interesting/fascinating stuff and I could have sat there all day. All in all a great day!

Dear Blog,

I'm glad I spent the extra couple of days in London as I've had a good wander through the Science and Natural History museums as well as being able to meet up with friends. I made it back home this morning without issue and in fact easier than expected, I earlier to the first train station and hopped on an earlier train which ran direct to Luton when I was expecting the minimum of one change.

I've been having a look to see if anyone has uploaded photos of the Clio but annoyingly there's one for the day after but none for my day. There's only 10 pictures total for that car which I'm surprised by as I thought most photographers would go for them as anyone driving had paid quite a bit and likely to be a one-off hence people would want pictures. However, someone has uploaded a video of my friend nearly crashing the Clio:

It looks less dramatic from that view although I didn't realise those two Porsches were so close.

Dear Blog

Will have to try and get down to Nurburg once I am driving.

Had a survey this morning and am now knackered, but I can't go home after work as its my Aunts 60th and she has bought her son and my gran over and is expecting a big party and BBQ to celebrate. Oh joy.

Edit: In other news I nearly died 4 years ago today. I guess I can pretend this party is for that instead.

Dear Blog.

Opened a business account today, it's all getting a bit real now. Just have to re-model my house to get a clinic room up and running, not proving an easy or quick job.

Dearest Blog,

Happy still alive day mate :)

Mine is Nov 21st 2008 I think, totally different circumstances though of course :) (No, don't ask). Anyway, I imagine if you're like me you don't feel too much like making a party of it, but you really should bounce around and be generally over happy and demand presents, always demand presents :)

Dear Blog

How I nearly died, for those that are interested, TLDR version motorbike accident. I actullay like to make the day by doing something, and presents are always warranted, this year I got 2 big bags of Skittles as I am currently addicted to the fruity little casuast.

Spoiler:
I had my motorbike accident 4 years yesterday, while I only broke my femur I was an inch or so away from having my head and chest impaled on a roof rack, and because I was about as far away from an ambulance station as it is possible to be I was in shock by the time they arrived.

Although head trauma means I now have a much shorter temper, not that it was particularly long to begin with, and I like spicy food, oh and they didn't put my leg on straight when they fitted my nail so my foot sticks out to the side.

I think I want an e-book reader, the new Amazon Kindle is out on the 27th and seems pretty cheap and offers probably the best ebook store, plus it supports PDF so you should be able to get them from other places.

Dear scar

You sounded like an infant has put together a Mr Potato Head... ;)

Nah, well done on being alive! One of the missus mates fiances had a bike accident. Was thrown from his bike whilst cycling. Was in hospital for a few weeks and cant remember his vows for the wedding now. no short term memory to speak of. scary really..

Oh, and she loves her sony e-reader, but would love a kindle. Dad got a kindle from barclays as a work prize. they're good if you read. but not if you think the books are cheaper! they arent...

Got the kindle app on android. there was a free sherlock holmes book.. but thats about it!

Dear Blog

Lol, never thought of it like that.

I have a friend who has had 2 serious bike crashes, the first one broke his left femur in several places and he ended up with that leg and inch shorter, his second accident broke his right lower leg so he ended up losing an inch of his lower leg. So he is now an inch shorter than he was and his knees are in different places.

I think I will wait till the Kindle store is open here so I can see how the pricing works, I like the idea of the e-book but there is something about dead tree books that is so much more appealing. The new Kindle is only £109 so its almost impulse buy pricing, plus there are plenty of "free" ebooks about to equal out the purchase.

dear blog

i too almost came a cropper when hit by a car doing approx 40mph whilst out cycling. i remember very little of it but my friend who saw the whole thing said i went about 25ft into the air and cleared a car coming the other way. luckily for me i came away with hardly a scratch - poor old bike took the brunt and was smashed to bits.

Dear Blog.

Two close ones Kayaking, one big fall climbing, two 'bouts' of hypothermia, one near miss on the bicycle. No doubt others that I wasn't aware of, I know I used to get some comments to that effect kayaking the grade 5-6 stuff. Oh, and the hypothermia was separate from the kayaking and my own bloody fault.

(TBH, they were all my own bloody fault, I get a bit eager to find my limits at times).

Funnily enough, no serious head injuries (although a couple of very damaged brain buckets) or breaks. Only some ribs on two occasions. However, surgery to the left knee, both shoulders and the inguinal region (hernia) has been needed and I know my shoulders and lower back are heading back to the table at some point.
