Phone update 2017 - ha! Living it 2014 style with a Lumia 925 again. Or was it 2013?

June 2013 apparently, I like how your Android phones are always mysteriously broken or stolen yet your Windows Phone is always fine? You WP fanboys are the worst.

TBH I am sad to see the Windowsphone die off. They were my preferred OS and sat in between the rigid control of iOS and the very open Android.

I like some of the ideas on the Razer phone particularly as it mixes some practical features like a beefy battery and the price isn't silly either. I'm tempted as it's something a bit different but it's irritating there's no headphone jack, the screen is no bigger and it's not OLED either plus and perhaps most fundamentally I don't really do much gaming on my phone.

I've pretty much decided to go for a Note 8 but feel there's a good chance the price is going to drop a bit so I'm hanging on as I know I'll be annoyed if I buy one now and see it a hundred quid cheaper in a few weeks.

I was close to getting the note 8. But makes more sense for me to get the galaxy s9 when it's out. As it's rumoured to bring the 2 camera set up to both s9 models. Which would be nice! And the note is a bit too much for me!

I forgot to mention that I have offloaded the S8 to the Mrs and bought an iPhone X. The facial recognition works very well and is significantly better than Samsung’s variant. Plus it works in the dark too.

The size of this handset is just right and the resolution and battery is much improved over my old IPhone 7.
