I find both settings have their place, on a mouse "normal" makes sense on a trackpad "natural" feels much more intuitive once you get over the initial learning curve, especially if your. I use both interchangeably between work and home and both feel right in context. But horses for courses and all that stuff.

Just updating my Windows 7 Parallels instal, no idea if it will work or what it will be like if it does as its a dodgy copy, its downloaded now and verifying.

Damnit. the Elan driver is funky bad... it keeps disabling the trackpad! I have to either plug in a mouse or navigate using cortana and keyboard to the options to enable it!

Those Windows Central links sorted it. Looks like mine was one of those that was compatible with the update but kept getting the fails.

Windows Update is grabbing it now.

LoL! just read my "your nearly there for your windows 10 reservation" from my windows 10 machine...

There's probably loads of background stuff that's changed. For me, it looks clean, windows search works, All my software is working better than i thought it would, the start menu is sort of back, and i still basically don't use it. "Hey Cortana, open word".

It's Windows 8 but everything launches in a Window. It's a cunning difference, but the Windows 8 haters haven't seemed to notice. Keep it quiet...

Windows 10 is largely just a branding exercise and I can't really blame Microsoft for it when you look at how different the public perceived Vista and 7 and 8 when they were largely the same OS underneath. Windows 10 is pretty much Windows 8.2, still running on the NT6 kernel underneath - Vista was NT6, 7 was NT6.1, Windows 8 was NT6.2 and 8.1 was NT6.3 so 10 is just NT6.4.

It's installing now on the Venue 8 Pro so interested to see if they've improved the touchscreen on it, despite people frequently claiming Windows 8 was best for touch systems when in reality I didn't think it worked well on a pure touch system.

Yeah, Windows 8's start menu and apps might have been fine for touchscreen, but little beyond that. I wonder if they thought RT was the only OS that would be used on pure-touch devices, and the lack of installing-non-store-apps would save them. And then no one wanted RT!

Mrs T's comment of W10, "Oooo, it's pretty".

I cant get the installer to run properly, it downloads but when its on the creating media bit it runs fine up to 68% then jumps to 100% and crashes. Will grab the ISO and see if it will install.

I like the idea of being able to run the Xbox sharing in "coherence" mode, if I can get it working.

If you're missing placeholders in W10 OneDrive then you could set it up as a mapped drive: http://www.winbeta.org/news/onedrive-pl ... -them-back

Reserve notifications have popped up on my netbook and stream tab now. Not tried making a bootable USB from the ISO yet to jump the queue.

Still haven't had a chance to upgrade to Windows 10 yet - Need a quiet weekend first, but was interested to know how people felt about the personal data that is being collected with Windows 10, there seemed to be quite a few articles cropping up over the weekend.

Personally, I don't have anything to hide and if it provides a better overall experience then I don't see it as being a problem, I'm an Android user after all so I can't really complain about Microsoft doing something that Google already does. Am I being too optimistic or is my life considerably more interesting than I imagined?

I've upgraded the 8in tablet but I'm finding it a bit difficult to use, you can't seem to change between touch and desktop modes as seemlessly as on Windows 8 since you need to explicitly switch between tablet and desktop mode which I'm finding irritating. I'm toying with changing the Latitude 12 over so I have to use it more and get more familiar with it.
