Just looking into ordered a new Roccat Kone V2 mouse. So the scroll wheel issue is fixed on those. Love my G9, and COULD order a g9x. But fancy a change for something with uber flashy lights!

Could go for a Razer Lachesis i guess? But the news one dont have weights, and just arent as illuminated!

Every review I read praised that kone massively and it was literally just the scroll wheel that put me off.

hmmm, i reckon it might be a winner! weights, lights, 3200 dpi, 10 buttons, macros, onboard memory, and the mouse scans your mouse mat to check the laser level!

And its shiny!

Well, with the fixed scroll wheel, people can only find fault with a few things! The LEDs dont flash smoothly. And there's no cover for the weight slot if you dont want to nuse weights. Oh, and the connector isnt gold... Other than that, people like it!

Just saw this steel series WoW MMORPG mouse.. It has FIFTEEN customisable buttons! And you can change the lights between the slats!

The lights never changed smoothly on the V1 either.

To be fair the main reason I like it is because i HATE stuff with blue LEDs (even though my pc is full of them) and the lights in that Kone when set to red would match those in my X6 keyboard perfectly.

No and no, wireless and gaming moue just dont mix imho. Only one i know of that even comes close is the Razer mamba but thats like £120 and the reviews say you can still notice some lag compared to a wired mouse.

And no to the sidewinder Replicant, didn't take my fancy at all. Only mouse that has even come close to pulling me away from my diamondback is that Roccat.

Weights always seemed a bit OTT to me, although I've never had a mouse with them. Not totally sure with the quality of the Steelseries stuff - I have a pair of headphone made by them and the volume control is slightly dodgy. Is that Kone mouse Thundercat special?

My mouse suddenly seems so boring - I need more lights! And I actually really like the look of that wow mouse, kind of like an armadillo!

the WoW mouse is really an overkill! I mean, i love the use of lights under the chain mail! But the buttoins are apparently too many! and the 4 way thumb pad means if you lift the mouse up, you click alot of macros!

The Mambo has had a firmware upgrade that solves the issue where it stops registering movement, and the lag. However there are only 5 buttons, and 2 of those are left and right! Also, the razers seem to only be good on hard surfaces.

However, the Roccat has this TCU thing. It scans the surcafe using (i think) infrared to see how poerful the laser should be.

Weights are useful as i HATE light mice. I want 20g of weight in there! Just working out where the cheapest is including delivery.

If you are spending this much on a top end mouse a decent surface is a must imho so I wouldnt get too hung up on the TCU thing. Upgrading from my hard plastic mat to my proper icemat made just as much difference as changing from my 100dpi ball mouse to my razer diamondback did.
