Ras's mouse is dying... I have a logitech G9 that i use with my laptop. its great, but as the wire is put at a weird angle, and they use fabric instead of wire as a shield, the connector is wiggling loose.
So basically i'm after a cheap, wired, gaming mouse, with on the fly dpi reduction, thum buttons, weights, and lights!!! Must have lights!
Any suggestions?

Ah, what you need is a Logitech G9.... oh, wait, something else...
*A G5? It has every thing you want if you count the battery lights as lighty enough
Only £50 retail.
*There is the Microsoft Sidewinder - people say it's good n stuff and the pics on the site show it glows, but I'm a purist and believe software manufacturers should stick to that. That's £42ish.
*And yes - the Razers will probably tick the boxes but I find difficulty using them unless you're not right handed... nor left handed. Perhaps a hand coming out of your forehead and being symmetrical might work.

haha, well i could get the logitech g9x, which is the upgrade. but its £50, and was tempted to spend less than that!
Not sure on the razors. they have the lights and things, and i do have the mat. need to see them and hold one really.

I am still using my trusty old MX518 after 4 years solid use. I was thinking of upgrading it once but then thought why bother as it is a solid performer.
For portable use I use my wireless VX Revolution

I have for my laptop the MX518 as well - stonking mouse
for my desktop I use the MX Revolution, again a great mouse but you have to change some of the hotkeys around.

Re: Gaming mouse
How about a 360 gamepad instead? Much better than a mouse.

My friend gave me his Razer Deathadder and it is awesome. Destroyed my old logitech mx510 hands down. Whatever this thing costs new I would buy it if it ever broke down. but I dont think it has any weights.

Re: Gaming mouse
I've got a MX 518 too, it's been going for about 4 years as well. I also have a diamondback, didn't realise as I bought it online but it is quite a large mouse (I have small hands), so probably better than the 518 (or whatever the newer version is) if you've got large hands.

Re: Gaming mouse

I was desperate for a Roccat kone but the scroll wheel issues really put me off, this new improved one could be my perfect answer!
