for £1000 netbook?!

Nah, it looks brilliant it has to be said. But the screen is too small to really enjoy gaming on it, even tho the GPU will power some nice games!

But please post a review if you get one!

Likewise I think the screen is too small, I have a Vaio TX with an 11in 1366x768 screen which is fine when travelling light but it is physically small. At the moment I prefer the look of the 13in Sony Z series which offers a better balance and specifically a more usable high resolution screen. I don't really see the point in the M11x having an 11in chassis when it has to be that deep.

Just had a look at the machine on the Dell site, it is an interesting machine but too pricey with the lack of optical drive and at 2kg it's actually pretty heavy for the size. May keep an eye on the Outlet in future...

Yah its at the top end for a laptop but I wouldn't call it a netbook myself, I think the resolution is plenty enough for gaming on the move, considering I play FPS on PSP etc. It'll drive a proper LCD screen for in house gaming.

I've got 4G, 320GHD and the faster CPU for £820

Sony Z - now thats a pricey machine! I bought my wife the Sony CW for Xmas and have to say I really rate Vaio machines now - it was awesome. The Z looks awesome but its very expensive.

I've ordered an M11X. I've got a Kobalt G860 which is absolutely awesome but the lack of battery life (about 30 mins max) just makes it too like a desktop. I travel alot and have seen most of the films on a plane so looking at this, should also run of airline power which the G860 won't.

Will post a short review when it arrives.

Neil, congrats to you sir! good price. make sure you get the warranty! Many dell owners like myself have found them invaluable when the machine breaks 3 years later and you can still get a full refund!

I didn't realise it had an integrated battery which is extremely disappointing as that means no extended battery.

yah but you get 4 hours of gaming and 8 hours of web browsing, what would you need more battery for? The battery is changeable you just need to pop the lid open.

Some reviews are quoting considerably lower batterylife though, I prefer having the choice of extended batteries even if the machine has decent stock batterylife as an extended battery will allow it to go any further.

The main site layout is a bit cluttered but it's a very good, thorough review - I like their variety of benchmarks plus the visual representation, it's also good to see a comparison of temperatures when running overclocked. It's also good to see simple touches like the size of the machine against a DVD box and how big the power adapter is. All in all I have to admit it makes the machine very tempting!

I'll read through the review a little latter as I didn't have time, and if I can find an adblocker.
