Ventrillo/TeamSpeak

Postby Advocate » 04 Nov 2008, 17:59

I know very little/almost nothing about these services but what I do know is that they are a means to communicate with voice while playing games etc.... question is do we have enough bandwidth to host em... and would you mind hosting them for us? ----- for better details etc Binnsy is your man.......

Basically you install the server client then we can all connect to it and its like a big voice chat room.

Yes you can, its quite easy to specify a password in the TS server config.

If you do want help setting this up i have rather extensive knowledge of editing Teamspeak settings, I know very little about Ventrillo though.

Have used TS for years now, very easy to setup and use. Just keep your mike away from your nose and no whistling!

Looks like teamspeak is winning out :D

Personally even though it is a lot lower audio quality than Vent I much prefer it :P

Ok, the server is up but I'm having problems with the account so it might take me a little while to get it set up.

Ok its now up and running, please PM me for the connection password.

The server address is ts.cstefan.com port is the default 8767

If you dont know how to use teamspeak once you have it installed go to connect, quick connect, and enter the server as ts.cstefan.com, any nickname, and the password that either me or cstefan can give you via PM and you will connect. I will work on getting proper registered accounts set up once the basics are working.

I've used both a 5.99 special from game and some plantronics. Both performed fine with TS, but the plantronics are WAYYYY more comfy.

Looking to get some medusas from Santa :)
