Was just wondering if we could have a help section? Maybe coupe it in with useful info.
E.g I have a problem with Word 2007 and going to start a post on it, but there isn't really a section it fits into. I think it could be pretty useful to have a software help section.
Just a suggestion anyways.
Cheers,
j

You beat me to it as I have been thinking of this for a few weeks now and was going to post the suggestion this evening.

Can't help but think that whilst new sections are being made it may be time to add a section for desktop pc's?
Enough of us here use them as well

I agree with keeping the forums tidy, but cant help thinking now that theres more users here that it could afford to get a "little" larger.

Enough people may use them but there's currently very little discussion on them, while that current category is very general it's not that busy which means anything can really go in there. If any particular aspects are taking over that part of the forum they can be separated out into their own section but that's not quite happened yet.

you could turn the useful info section into useful + help?

Thats actually a very good idea Matt.
Perhaps rename the section 'Technical Help and Useful Info'

Re: How about a help section?
I still think a software help section is a good idea.
Or maybe a "software" section "a place to discuss computer programs and to get help for your problems"
Software is arguably a bigger part of tech than the actual hardware itself. I know i personally have more problems with software than hardware. For anybody looking for help it would be good to keep separate the big two facets of technology.

They're not separate though and often software issues here are due to the specific hardware, given the current traffic going through the forum there doesn't really seem to be enough to split it again given many people already ask for help within existing forums.
