So I'm noticing, good thing they are easy to implement here!

Generally my sunday AM drunken rants are NSFW so it's all good.

I still think PC Specs should go above our post count.

They can't go in there using the current implementation as it would wreck the formatting, the user info panel is already too big as it's stretching posts as it is.

Just to be clear, would the putting of the button there itself wreck the formatting, or the expanding element of the button? Because i've seen them before when they open up in a little window all to themselves..

A fair point and one which i can't think of a solution for, other than a second column, right now.

You don't actually have to have it there, there's an option in my TechSupportForum profile 'do you want your specs listed? YES/NO' sort of thing..

I just think if we're going to have the feature it would be neater *shrug*

Personally I think it needs something other than the button. For example stef,, yours could quite easily fit onto one line and would in my opinion look better than the button.

The button is easy to implement so that's the reason it's there, it's not meant to be a be all and end all solution. That said my personal preference is towards minimal signatures (I dislike signature images particularly although that's just a personal preference) and the button allows a more complex signature which is only there when needed. The button is not forced in any way though, it doesn't bypass any limits and it remains entirely up to the user's choice.

I have searched for any decent phpBB mods that would allow custom data (not necessarily PC specs) to be linked to from the user info panel where it makes sense but I've not been able to find that yet. There are custom profile fields which I didn't think was much use but I'm thinking looking at this page now if we could link to a little computer icon (similar to the PM, e-mail etc.) that could actually work well.
