PS4

Postby robbo » 21 Feb 2013, 00:07

So, anyone watching this live? Never watched/been to one of these before so giving it a go. Lowest quality streaming is still stuttering...

Come on, what's it going to be like!? Stop talking, give me specs and massive price tag!

Watching it at the moment although possibly going to stop shortly as I can't be bothered with all this nonsense waffle, just want to see the console.

Ditto. It's also stuttering really badly for me. Buffering every 5 seconds... Think I'll go for a shower and see if anything interesting has popped up.

So, have I missed much? What's this about a driving club?

Driveclub is a game being produced by Evolution Studios, the same lot that did the Motorstorm games. The focus is apparently on sharing and challenges but despite them claiming about how new it is, many of the features looked remarkably similar to Forza Horizons. Their big show off feature was how you could really experience the car first hand by being able to step into the car and attach your seatbelt (I'm not joking).

Social gaming is apparently going to be the core of the PS4 to make it easier to show people what you've been playing, buying and be able to watch other people playing games which I can't say I'm bothered about.

Two hours in and still no sign of the PS4 itself and mostly just tech demos that show nothing particularly new, they boasted early on how the PS4 wasn't just more powerful hardware all they've done is just show fancier graphics.

What a bloody waste of time, how could they not show the console they were supposed to be announcing?!

I still can't believe how bad that was, I wonder what's happened that prompted such a rush job as they clearly aren't anywhere near presenting console yet. There's no word from Microsoft so either they're doing a good job stopping leaks or they're nowhere near a proper announcement either.

Glad I didn't watch the whole thing. Will be interesting to see what Microsoft do, and having both consoles supposedly launching together we might be back to the bad old days of the console wars.

I stayed up watching this and got bored by "Oh, another trailer for some game" so gave up.

It's all academic anyway, since whatever they and XBox stick inside their consoles, unless they are worlds apart the games will default to the level of the weakest console...
