Reading Festival

Wahoo! :P

There it was when I opened my post this morning. My golden ticket to Reading! A quick look on the bbc website and it says Friday and Saturday should be good weather. (Too far ahead for Sunday.) Goodo

So, any other Tech Ponders going to this, or Leeds, festie this year?

Re: Hols

Off to Turkey tomorrow! Not been on holiday for a few years so should be good. Never been before either but told it's good. And hot.

Don't think I'll be taking any books to read. Except for my course material that I need to catch up on... :(

Re: Batman rating - Possible spoilers

Yeah that 12a does seem a bit of a cop out - passing the responsability to the parents. Guessing it'll be a 12 for dvd release though like what happened to lotr.

So many things that could be said about this but meh, just finished work and need some lunch!

Re: Batman rating - Possible spoilers

My comment was mainly about films 'getting away with more' these days than a few years ago. Not sure if this is totally true but it seems so when you compare previous movies to their sequels etc as ras said and just what you seem to see now in a movie. As said above i'm not sure how a kid would reac...

Re: Batman rating - Possible spoilers

Back to classification of movies... I remember pretending to be 12 (I was eleven and a half-ish) to go and watch Independence Day, rated 12, when it came out. From memory that film wasn't really scary. It had a few jumpy bits with aliens popping out of mist/fog and some gun firing but nothing like t...

Bit of drum and bass if you like it and the commentary to the video made me chuckle. The best bit in Ep 1 <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/npYSZ3IvUBs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullSc...

Re: Cheap beer in Durham!

Yeah, some local stuff. Forget the name but it oiled us up well before having an unofficial rowing race on the river!

Couldn't see any famous brands in the house either. That included the whiskeys at the back

Cheap beer in Durham!

One last thing before i go to bed... Just come back from a week in Durham and bloomin 'eck beer is cheap up there! Pints were costing around £1.50 in the city centre (Swan and Three Cygnets if anyone knows of it) and a little over 2 quid elsewhere. Beats the hell out of over 4 pounds a pint in Londo...

Anyone tried cuil yet?

Found out about this from the bbc website. A new search engine from former Google workers. http://www.cuil.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7528503.stm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A snippet from the piece: "Former worke...

Re: Small screen tv ideas

Yeah was wondering what it'd be like. Anyone actually got one of these small screens around there house? Good picture quality? Because my old housemate had one a few years ago but I thought the picture quality and viewing angle was terrible. Sure things have improved though. Not as of last year, at...

Re: Guitar Hero on DS

Bamboozle isn't the same on digital text now. Just another boring quiz without Bamber! Never got all 12 right in one go. Except on the junior one once...

As for Guitar Hero on the DS, might give it ago. Not played my DS in ages. Got to be better than the cooking guide that's out at the moment.
