Re: What Film have you just watched?

Machete - brilliant. Best film of the year so far! Cloudy with a chance of meatballs - really, really good and lots of laughs (from someone who doesn't always enjoy comedy animation films). This was my first 3D film on my mates 3D TV. Watched the 2nd half in 2D and enjoyed it just as much, probably ...

Re: What have you bought today - VOL 3

A Pogoplug. setting up seemed much harder than it should have been. I think I'll ditch the pre-installed software & try plug linux tomorrow.

Re: What Book are you reading? and rate it.

I'm very nearly through Embedded Linux Primer: A Practical Real World Approach. No joke, it actually has a picture of a light sabre on the front. That aside, it's been really really interesting and probably the best book I've read in ages! I borrowed it from the uni library but I am definitely going...

Re: Linux. Again. Grrr

I hope you get it to work. I'd like to think I've come a long way from my Linux beginnings and if it wasn't for the lack of a reasonable substitute for Remote Desktop I wouldn't bother dual booting any more. (From a desktop point of view mind, I've never had my own home server; I'm not sure what I'd...

Re: Linux. Again. Grrr

This may sound stupid, but when I installed it on a laptop once wireless wasn't working when It booted. Then i left-clicked on the network icon and selected the wlan0 (or whatever) and it turned on. That really does sound stupid but I was only right-clicking on the icon and doing all this config and...

Re: What Film have you just watched?

Grown Ups - not a great film but I just love that same bunch of actors who always appear in Sandler films. Plus Salma Hayek is insanely fit.

Re: Are digital downloads ever going to get any better...

I have been looking at the Kindle and ebooks recently but the problems for me are twofold. On the one hand I mostly (nearly only) read reference books and digital copies are just not the same for leafing through. I know you can make notes and bookmarks with the new devices, but you cant just stick ...

Re: Pegasus 665 Overheating

My 670 is as loud now as my 665 used to be. Fortunately it's been banished to the realm under my bed but I'm quite tempted to see if I have a similar thermal "solution" going on.

The first blu-ray I saw was Kung Fu Panda and I was instantly converted from the HD sceptic I once was.

Re: What Film have you just watched?

Terminator 3: The less said about that the better, it is so bad. But... Arnie's cameo... yeh even that didn't help. Your thinking of 4 which is EVEN worse than 3. :-( I am desperate to see inception but not out here in Oz till next week. Yep, you are right. Three is the one with the fire ...
