Re: router keeps dropping connection

If sky would let me change my router by giving me the bloody password for the service That's a bit naughty of Sky... Are they still dishing out Netgear DG834GT's? You should be able to extract the ADSL password. Firstly, can you log into the router web interface with admin/sky credentials? If not, ...

Re: router keeps dropping connection

I would avoid Linksys if at all possible. I've had to return a number of their devices over the past 6 years. Not just for me but for clients too. Linksys do not operate like Cisco. Not by a long shot. It's no surprise then that they've reduced their 3 year warranties down to 1. Shows little company...

Re: The Great Desktop Exodus

Hi Tappy, I'm not entirely convinced about the system spec above? You're biggest performance bottleneck would be the hard drive, no? For £1200, I'd expect to see a SSD as the primary boot drive? If you went with an overclocked i5 2500k, you could budget for this? The 6970 is a sensible card. Right i...

Re: Battlefield 3

I've only played a bit of the campaign so far. Mainly to figure out how to make the game run smoothly on my laptop - 1280x800 on lowest settings.

Your experience Ras has now deterred me from going online for probably a few more days. Scary! :-)

Re: Battlefield 3

So I was on HotUKDeals and saw the reduced price of the limited edition version of BF3; http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/battlefield-3-pc-limited-edition-23-47-using-code-exm5off25-1-tesco-entertainment-1051302" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I then spotted a comment about Origin being...

Re: Battlefield 3

As always I'm a bit late to the party. This is the first game I've ever pre-ordered!

I also grabbed a copy of the limited edition physical warfare pack from Gameplay.

Cheers for the heads up on the Nvidia driver. Preparing myself to play it at 640x480, fire extinguisher on standby. :-)

Re: If you could only have one computer, which would it be?

Back in 2008, I was simply unwilling to compromise between power and portability. For me at least, there was no killer inbetweener. The closest model I could find was the LG P300 (lighter at 1.6kgs yet with more 3D power than the M1330). Unfortunately LG wouldn't sell it in the UK. To get one meant ...

Re: Ultra portable for under £400?

John beat me to it! :-) HotUKDeals have their moments, don't they. I wonder. Has this anything to do with Samsung releasing their 300U laptop recently? http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/pc-peripherals/notebook-computers/ultra-portable/NP300U1A-A01UK" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Un...

I was curious about the difficulty in removing hub-equipped rear wheels and so watched this vid; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGEXjpXtw4g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Does the belt further complicate matters? I've not felt the need to use a cooler. My temps seem okay to me? Re: Thinking of buying a hybrid bike

Hi John, lovely bike! Choosing a lock was a real headache for me. I stumbled upon CaptionCropper's YouTube vids ( http://www.youtube.com/user/CaptainCropper" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) which made my heart sink. So-called decent locks were destroyed in mere seconds with the right...
