Re: What you playing at the minute?

After ghosting both Knife Of Dunwall and Witches Of Brigmore, I'm back in the main Dishonoured (damn, I keep spelling it wrong by spelling it correctly) campaign again to ghost that as well. Second and subsequent visits to a game are a hallmark of money well spent and consideration as an all time fa...

Re: What are you listening to? Vol 2.1

David Bowie - The Next Day Extra - An outstanding album from one of my lifelong favourites and an unforgivable omission from the car stick for too long, now corrected. Gems like this speak for themselves. VpXleysIs90 Manic Street Preachers - Futurology - Another one of my lifelong favourites, althou...

Re: Dear Blog V XV - the blog strikes back

Dear Blog, It's been a while. As the summer draws to a close I'm reflecting on one of my most prudent purchases, which wasn't bought today, so isn't in that topic, but is about much more than the buying of it. Back in June we first made space in the garage for a Prodigy Perception 2 145 Expedition, ...

Re: Need a new laptop - nothing seems to hit the mark!

All my Clevo's had hardware failures, either heat or power supply every time. Hope you have better luck if you make that choice.

Re: What Phone OS is yours?

I'm using WM 6.5, but then the HD2 still does all I ask of it in running offline navigation software, playing music, integrating with MS Office, grab-snap picture taking and occasional use as a phone. I have all of Britain in 1:25000 / 1:50000 and marine charts on Memory Map, plus Europe, Australia/...

Re: Gaming Mouse

I'm a left handed mouser, so the last few years have been exclusively Razer. Currently running a left handed Naga MMO mouse and a symmetrical Lachesis 4000 on my other machine. The Naga is packed-full-of-buttons useful, but at the cost of being FPS clumsy compared to the Lachesis. My Lachesis 5600 s...

Re: What you playing at the minute?

Recently finished Outlast, a pretty decent unarmed horror FPS in the mould of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but in a modern setting. Completed two consecutive runs of Dishonoured: Knife of Dunwall and currently into Witches of Brigmore. Finished beta testing Heroes and Generals a while ago, which was r...

Re: What Film have you just watched?

All but given up on films for some time now, as TV has been much, much more enjoyable. The Walking Dead, Justified, Black Sails, Vikings, Game Of Thrones, Turn, even 24 is back. So much episodic goodness, so little need for the box office.

Re: What are you listening to? Vol 2.1

Bit of a necro, but hey, this is what I just listened to. The ringing and muffling of my hearing's self defence mechanism finally fading away, after an all out audio assault by Nine Inch Nails at the LG Arena on Sunday. Visceral, stripped down, relentless, a spread spectrum of classic and new. Who p...

That's chuckle-worthy ... and twice the dimensions of my daughter's Wacom Cintiq, which now seems more portable on it's Ergotron floating arm!

Re: bluetooth car, callls only not music. Optoins?

I bit the bullet some time ago and installed an after-market head unit with aux and USB. All those plug-in-tacky-extra-widget and unreliable-bluetooth-from-device solutions didn't seem worth the hassle, just to maintain the appearance of a small rectangular panel in the dash. Never had any truck wit...

Re: Multimedia NAS

My FritzBox 7390 router has a very convenient NAS feature via the USB port. Just plug in any storage device, wait a couple of minutes for the index to build and voila, access via network drive connectivity or DLNA. The later FritzOS firmware disabled the SMB network drive access to safeguard against...

Re: What you playing at the minute?

After receiving an email from BIS, I blagged Carrier Command: Gaia Mission and Take On Helicopters, both currently at 90% discount on Steam. Having had the original Carrier Command on the Amiga, nostalgia tipped my hand, though it has joined the long and glorious game queue for now. From enjoying fl...

Re: What you playing at the minute?

I'm enjoying Thief warts and all, thus far enough to overlook the significant imperfections. The atmosphere is rich and detailed, the thievery is slick and the player character is excellent. However, occasionally crash-stopping the adventure is a level design so linear it is on rails and the whole p...
